Lower Back Stretches

Yoga In 60 Seconds ~ Lower Back Release

Lower Back Stretches To Release Tension

An easy movement that anyone can do to release tension in the lower back.   Great anytime of the day, either for loosening up in the morning or releasing tension at the end of the day if you’ve been sitting or standing for long periods.  Combining this with breath awareness allows for a deeper release and a mini moment of mindful meditation.

All you need is a firm surface to lie on, but beds don’t count for this one, sorry!

Try a combination of in/out, side to side, and slow circles.  They will all feel slightly different so take it easy and tune into what your lower back needs today and feel into the movement.

This can be used alone or at the beginning or end of any movement-based practices to warm up or gently stretch out afterward.  Enjoy the gentle ease of this one, it’s a fantastic antidote to a day of gardening!

Try a whole week of lower back stretches like this whenever you remember to.  I’d love to hear how you go with it!
