Walking Warm Up

Yoga In 60 Seconds ~ Walking Warm Up

Quick Standing Warm Up

Want a quick warm up that you can do with limited space?  Then this walking warm up is for you. It will get your blood flowing in no time and mimics the action of walking.  However, we involve the arms too, just so they don’t feel left out of the warm up 🤣

This will also wake up your brain as a bit of coordination is involved to get into a rhythm.  Don’t give up because once you get it, your brain will remember, and it will become easy.

Perfect for cooler mornings or when you’ve been sitting still for a while and need a circulation boost.    Let me know how you go.

Benefits Of Walking

Walking is an undervalued form of exercise and has many benefits for your body.   Best of all, it’s free, easy and can be done just about anywhere!

Walking wards off heart disease, brings up the heart rate, lowers blood pressure and strengthens the heart. Post-menopausal women who walk just one to two miles a day can lower their blood pressure by nearly 11 points in 24 weeks. Women who walk 30 minutes a day can reduce their risk of stroke by 20%, and by 40% when they stepped up the pace, according to researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston.

Here are some of the benefits of walking from the Arthritis Foundation:

  1. Improve Circulation
  2. Build Your Bones
  3. Enjoy a Longer Life
  4. Lighten Your Mood
  5. Lose Weight
  6. Strengthen Muscles
  7. Improve Sleep
  8. Support Your Joints
  9. Improve Your Breath
  10. Slow Down Mental Decline
  11. Lower Alzheimers Risk
  12. Do More For Longer

Get that body moving, it will thank you for it in the long run (or should I say walk?!)
