Back Stretches Spine Salute

Yoga In 60 Seconds ~ Spine Salute Back Stretches

A Simple Standing Sequence

I love this simple spine mobilising sequence that anyone can do anytime during the day.  If you don’t have time to lie down and do back stretches on the floor, then this is perfect for you!

It gently takes your spine through all its planes of movement; forward and backward bending (flexion/extension), twisting and side bending (lateral) in each direction.  In the morning it will get your whole body moving gently.  In the evening, it will stretch into areas that may have tightened during repetitive activities during the day.   All of this whilst tuning into the breath to make it a mini moving meditation.  You don’t need a yoga mat and it’s all standing so could even be used at work.  No excuses to be found here!

This sequence is loosely based on something I came across years ago named the Egyptian salute to the sun.  I’m not sure who to credit it to but I love it and I’m sure you will too.  I hope you find this useful to keep you moving and meditating with ease.

If there is something you’d like that you don’t see, just ask and we’ll be happy to include it in future releases. Remember to subscribe to our socials to get more handy yoga tips.  I look forward to seeing you over there!
