Tip - Make A Day Of It & Attend Both Workshop Topics On This Day

Our foam roller workshop (Self Myofascial Release) is great for anyone who wants to manage bodily tension actively.  Learn how to find places in your body where you can improve your mobility.  Be quick as this one is popular & usually books out in advance!

Run by senior yoga teacher and experienced yoga therapist Charley Hickey C-IAYT.  Learn how to safely and effectively use self-myofascial release (SMR) with a foam roller and massage balls. Great for getting into your tight spots that other techniques may have missed.

Also included are:

  • Gentle yoga movements
  • Progressive muscle relaxation technique
  • Meditation, and breathing practices.

No experience is needed with beginner rollers & balls provided to use on the day.   Many people own a foam roller yet aren’t sure what to do with it so it’s an opportunity to get some pointers. The day includes morning tea and notes.

Please bring a yoga mat and blanket. All other equipment is provided but you can BYO foam roller to experiment with if you have one.

Please note:  This workshop is beneficial for yoga teachers to attend to pick up tips for injury management. Many yoga teachers have attended this topic in the past, see testimonials below.  A certificate can be provided for professional development points for relevant associations like Yoga Australia &  International Association of Yoga Therapists.

What Our Students Say

Great workshop for anyone interested in health. Charley provides insight into the role of fascia in the body and how to administer self myofascial release. As a yoga teacher and therapist I found this incredibly informing and helpful in broadening my scope in providing alternatives to releasing tension in the body. A great workshop for not only yogis but also anyone interested in health and fitness.

I am definitely hooked, thank you! Thoroughly enjoyed the foam roller workshop. The main surprise and joy I have had since then is experiencing great relief in the pain I have had in my right shoulder. I have had trouble with it since I had a fall last June. Since Saturday I have been practicing the Scapula Complex foam roller exercise and the SCM (side of neck) where I also have a lot of trouble, as well as practicing most of the other tension releasing exercises you talked us through. I am definitely "hooked". Thank you for your professionalism in talking us through the Foam Roller Tension Release exercises Charley and helping each of us when we needed it.

Very Beneficial Workshops. I have had the great pleasure in attending Charley's Self Myofascial Release (SMR) Foam Roller Workshop and The Spine and Your Breath workshops. I am a yoga teacher just beginning a new adventure teaching seniors, so I found these workshops to be very beneficial. I have since used many of the postures and techniques in my classes. It was a joy to be involved in the workshops with Charley and her knowledge, passion and love of yoga is ever present in her teaching. Thank you, Charley, as the workshops have assisted me in guiding my students to explore the gift of yoga.
